Most bottled olive oil is a blend of oils from many farms, regions, and sometimes countries, bottled months after pressing. JIDHOUR comes from a single grove in one Tunisian village, harvested by hand and cold-extracted within hours — so it reaches you as one harvest, from one place, at its freshest.

Is JIDHOUR really extra virgin?

Yes. Our oil is obtained purely by mechanical cold extraction from fresh olives, with free acidity at or below 0.8% — the international standard for extra virgin. There is no refining, no heat, and no blending.

Where does the oil come from?

From our family's village in Tunisia, where my grandfather tended his olive trees for a lifetime. The olives are picked by hand from that single grove and pressed the same day at a local mill.

How should I store the oil?

Keep the bottle tightly closed, away from light and heat — a cupboard away from the stove is perfect. Our dark glass protects against light, and an unopened bottle keeps well for 18 months. Once opened, enjoy it within a few months while the pepper is at its brightest.

Orders ship within 1–2 business days. Delivery typically takes 2–5 business days within Europe and 3–7 business days to the UAE and the Gulf. Shipping is free on orders over 40 € / $45 / AED 160; below that a small flat rate applies.

What does the oil taste like?

A vivid green pour with aromas of freshly cut grass and artichoke, a smooth, almost almond-sweet middle, and a peppery finish at the back of the throat — the signature of genuinely fresh, polyphenol-rich extra virgin olive oil.

Yes. Every label carries the harvest — currently November 2025. Harvest date matters more than best-before date: the closer to harvest you enjoy the oil, the brighter it tastes.

Is it suitable for cooking, or only finishing?

Both. It shines raw — over bread, salads, and vegetables — but Tunisian extra virgin is also stable enough for everyday pan cooking. We simply suggest saving some for the table, where you can actually taste it.
